Essential Standards of Care

It’s never an easy decision for you or your loved ones to decide on the right care home, so we'll try to make it as easy as possible and help with the transition every step of the way.

Our staff work closely with health and social care commissioners as well as agencies to make sure we maintain a standard of excellence in order to support the health and wellbeing of the people in our care.

We take everyone’s individual circumstances into account including cultural background, language, gender, disability, age, sexuality, religion and beliefs to provide a person-centred approach to care and maximise their independence.

We provide the following essential standards of care to all of our residents:

  • To be treated with respect, dignity and compassion
  • To have privacy in all personal matters
  • To be kept safe and fully informed about all aspects of care, treatment and support
  • To live in pleasant, clean, comfortable and welcoming surroundings
  • To be given opportunities, encouragement and support to live as full a life as possible
  • To have personal records treated confidentially, kept safe and updated
  • Access to an open and honest complaints procedure to raise concerns
  • To be protected from abuse or the risk of abuse and to have human rights observed

About the Care Quality Commission

Woodlands Lodge is regulated and assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which is the independent body that inspects all aspects of social care in England. The digital presentation below provides a full explanation of their role.
